Anna Dari (piano)

Anna Dari was born on April 27, 1963 in Ascoli Piceno, a town that will remain forever in her heart. She started studying ballet and then piano at the Institute Gaspare Spontini.

At 13 she moved with her family to Alessandria in Piedmont, where she entered the Conservatory "A. Vivaldi". She studied piano with Prof. Cristiano, then with Prof. Aurora Verso and Rosanna Antoniotti.

She experienced years of loneliness and of profound suffering because of very difficult family situation and the piano became her best friend. She attended a Bachelor of Arts together paying her studies thank to a busy teaching schedule. She continued and finished her studies at the Conservatory, graduating with Walter Bozzia. Thanks to his guidance and some master classes with Maestro Luciano Lanfranchi, Mario and Franco Rosso Panciroli for Chamber Music she acquainted a greater self-confidence and began performing in concerts with four hands duo with the pianist and Elisa Nosengo and in duo with mezzo-soprano Oriana Ferraris.

Since 1991, year of birth of her first child, she stopped the concert career she just started to devote herself to teaching the piano in Municipal Schools and Institutes of Piedmont together with the organization of Competitions and concerts for young musicians. She also founded a children choir called "Little Choir Cagni". She started also teaching in various primary schools in the province of Asti.

In 1996, after serious health problems she began to study composition. She falled in love with Blues and Jazz also learning to play the tenor sax. She would like to start composing and improvising, but she was not able to find her 'voice' and creative freedom. In 2002 the birth of her second daughter Alessia makes her shelve the piano.

On July 9, 2007 Giovanni Allevi performed a concert in Asti, Anna finally felt more than ever that if a classical pianist, composes and plays his music without any fear of critics she must try to do too. Next morning she got up, went at the piano gathering up her courage and convinced to remain there improvising until she had composed what she was feeling. Thus was born her first song "Broken Heart". Since then, improvising and composing on the piano has become few her an endless source of joy.

In August 2009 she presented for the first time in public her compositions: a collection of 13 songs entitled "Sounds and Colors of the Soul". She performed them in many concerts all over Italy gaining the favor of audiences and critics.
